The number of people injured during protests in France exceeded 400 people

In France, 409 people were injured as a result of protests against rising gasoline prices on November 17, Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said. According to him, 14 of the victims are in serious condition.

The Minister also specified that 287.7 thousand people took part in the actions. The police detained 282 people.

• In the department of Savoy, a woman died during one of the actions. She was accidentally hit by a driver who panicked when protesters approached her car.
• From January 1, 2019, the French authorities raise the tax on diesel fuel by 6.5%, on gasoline - by 2.9%. As conceived by the ideologues of the tax increase, this will contribute to the refusal of some of the French from private cars, which will positively affect the environment.
