Detained opponents of the development of a park in Moscow's Kuntsevo were released from the police on an obligation to appear

In Moscow, 10 hours after their arrest, police released Victoria Larionova and Svetlana Shapova, who opposed the construction of a park in the Kuntsevo area, from the police station, reports . OVD-Info

According to 70-year-old Sharova, at the police department the detainees were not given food or water. Both were released on an undertaking to appear. Protocols under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to a police officer) against the detainees were returned to the police department to eliminate violations, Sharova noted.

On the night of November 19, activist Alexei Sobolev was detained for installing an Orthodox cross near a public garden; he was released after a conversation without drawing up a report. In the morning, police detained Shapova, Larionova and Roman Akchurin. The latter was detained after he asked a question to a representative of the PIK company. Later, he was released from the police department without a protocol “due to disability,” OVD-Info reported.

Several participants in the protest against the development of the park were detained the day before. Among them were municipal deputy Vadim Sokurenko, voting member of the election commission Savely Rozhkov, as well as former head of the Moscow Yabloko party Sergei Mitrokhin.

The PIK company plans to build a 26-story building on the site of the park on Ivan Franko Street. Local residents are opposed to the development and demolition of several five-story buildings located on the site of the facility.
