The number of people injured in protests in France exceeded 500 people. Tens of thousands continue to protest

The total number of people injured in protests in France against the increase in fuel taxes has reached 528 people, Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said. Among them are 92 law enforcement officers.

Castaner also noted that the number of protesters on Monday, November 19, decreased: according to his data, 27,000 people took to the streets that day.

• From January 1, 2019, the French authorities raise the tax on diesel fuel by 6.5%, on gasoline - by 2.9%. The government does not hide the fact that this is being done, among other things, to encourage residents of the country to abandon personal transport - this will be good for the environment.
• The largest actions took place on November 17, 288 thousand people took part in them.
