Recall that on a single voting day on September 9, the winner did not decide in the election of the governor of Primorye, the candidate from the Communist Party Andrei Ishchenko and the current head of the region Andrei Tarasenko reached the second round. The second round was decided almost immediately, on September 16. According to official figures of the regional election commission, Tarasenko was the leader with a minimum advantage, but Ishchenko and his team indicated that the protocols were “rewritten” in many sites. As a result, due to the pressure of Moscow, the election results were canceled and a new vote was appointed. At the same time, Andrei Tarasenko resigned, and Oleg Kozhemyako, who held the post of Governor of Sakhamayako, who was at that time, was appointed at that time. The leadership of the Communist Party decided to boycott the new elections and did not put forward Ishchenko, so he was forced to go to a self -nominee.
