Communist Party member Sergei Reznikov, convicted of drug possession, was released, writer Victoria Inozemtseva wrote on her Facebook.
Reznikov was sentenced to three years in prison in April 2017. The rest of the term (taking into account the time spent in custody), Inozemtseva explained, the court replaced Reznikov with a fine.
Reznikov, his family, colleagues and friends insist that the drugs were planted and that the criminal case was ordered. In particular, Reznikov, as a member of the Prospekt Vernadsky territorial election commission from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, exposed the “carousels” in the elections in 2011, and also fought with local developers.
