Gelendvagen racer expelled from Russia, accused of campaigning against government and law enforcement

Tajik citizen Abduvahob Majidov, who took part in the race in a Gelendvagen , has been expelled from Russia. This was reported by the Moscow agency with reference to the press secretary of the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow, Liana Akhmedova.

The decision on the undesirability of Majidov's presence on Russian territory was made by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in July 2018. It was based on operational information about foreigners involved in extremist and terrorist activities.

In particular, the Center for Combating Extremism of the Moscow Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs claimed that Madzhidov was campaigning against government policies and the activities of Russian law enforcement agencies, and was also inciting citizens to disobey the authorities.

Madzhidov sought to overturn the Interior Ministry's decision in the Zamoskvoretsky Court. But the court concluded that his presence on Russian territory "creates a real threat to public order and public health."
