Retailer Kingfisher intends to leave Russia, where he runs the Castorama chain of stores. The company will also close its structures in Spain and Portugal.
“We are committed to our plan to build a strong business for the long term. Therefore, we decided to withdraw from Russia, Spain and Portugal. This will allow us
focus on our core markets where we can achieve a leading position,” said company director Veronique Laurie.
Castorama is one of Europe's largest chain of hypermarkets selling goods for the home, summer cottage and renovation. In Russia, the network stores are located in Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Samara, Tolyatti, Perm, Rostov-on-Don, Omsk, Krasnodar, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Orenburg.
