Court secretary Eyvazov acquitted

The city court of St. Petersburg overturned the conviction of Alexander Eyvazov due to the lack of corpus delicti, with the right to rehabilitation.

This was reported in the Telegram of the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg. After the guilty verdict of the Kalininsky District Court, Eyvazov's defense filed an appeal, which was upheld by the City Court.

On July 18, the Kalininsky District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced former court secretary Alexander Eyvazov to a year and 10 months in a colony-settlement for refusing to sign the minutes of the meeting. On one of his working days, Eyvazov was present at the consideration of the case of deputy Timofey Kungurov, who was accused of attempted fraud. Eyvazov recorded the debate on this case, immediately after which he fell ill and did not have time to prepare the minutes of the meeting and sign it. When court officials came to him and asked him to sign the protocol retroactively, he got scared and went on study leave to Sochi, and then quit his job.

The secretary was sure that the judge at the trial acted in violation of the law and told the press information compromising the work of the Oktyabrsky District Court. As a result, Eyvazov himself was prosecuted for libel.
