Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Irina Yarovaya has developed a bill that tightens the rules for obtaining permits for hunting weapons

The document was supported by the leadership of the relevant parliamentary committees and sent to the expert council of the United Russia faction.

According to the bill, Russians under the age of 21 will have to provide a certificate and reference from their place of work in order to purchase a hunting ticket and a license to purchase hunting weapons; a certificate of income, a copy of the tax return or other document confirming the amount and source of income, as well as pass an interview at the National Guard.

“A personal interview, along with additional documents, will make it possible to give an objective and detailed assessment of the information provided, if necessary, to carry out additional verification activities, which, in combination, will provide a qualitatively new level in the prevention and prevention of crimes by persons aged 18-21 using weapons”, - Yarovaya is quoted by her press service .

The bill does not apply to those who served in the army, and those for whom hunting is a traditional way of life.

The topic of tightening control over the sale of weapons became discussed after the attack on a college in Kerch, where an 18-year-old student shot students and employees with a hunting rifle.
