Journalist Zoya Eroshok has died

Novaya Gazeta columnist and co-founder Zoya Eroshok passed away on November 21.

This, in particular, was reported on Facebook by journalist Ksenia Larina: “Terrible news. Zoya Eroshok, a brilliant journalist and person, has died. On December 1, Zoya would have turned 65 years old. Deep condolences to all relatives, friends, colleagues!

“She helped many, saved many, although in order to enter the pantheon of a worthy person, even one would be enough. Zoya, one of those who founded Novaya Gazeta, in order to make it a vital necessity for that part of our people who preserve the ideals of a simple, that is, true life !

Zoya Eroshok graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. She worked for six years in the regional youth newspaper Komsomolets Kuban and ten years in Komsomolskaya Pravda. In 1997 she was awarded the Golden Pen of Russia Prize of the Union of Journalists. Twice - in 2001 and 2008 - she received the Artem Borovik Award “Honour. Courage. Mastery”, reminds “Radio Liberty” . She taught journalism at the International University, as well as at the Institute of Journalism and Literary Excellence in Moscow. Zoya Eroshok was among the journalists who in 1993 began publishing Novaya Daily Gazeta, later renamed Novaya Gazeta.
