At age 11, a girl from Milwaukee wrote an essay about the inadmissibility of violence. Two years later she was shot dead

In 2016, 11-year-old Sandra Parks wrote an essay about the inadmissibility of violence. The essay won third place in her school district's annual Martin Luther King competition in Milwaukee. In November 2018, Sandra Parks was the victim of a street shootout.

Apparently, the criminals did not want to shoot at Sandra Parks. During the shootout, she was sitting in her bedroom watching TV. An accidental bullet hit her in the chest, the wound was fatal.

The police have already detained the suspects - 26-year-old Isaac Barnes and 27-year-old Antrell Auden. They were found in one of the neighboring houses, where they hid in the toilet. A semi-automatic rifle and a pistol were found in the same house. Experts have determined that, most likely, Sandra Parks was killed from this gun. Both suspects have already been prosecuted in cases of robbery with weapons.

Sandra Parks' essay stated that children are often victims of armed attacks and that there is a lot of violence around her, and blacks use it against other blacks. She called for more empathy and noted that education would make the world a better place. “We are the future leaders, and if we don’t get an education, we won’t achieve anything,” Parks wrote.

After the essay was awarded a competition award, Parks said that she herself chose the topic of violence, because there is always talk about how someone was shot - "and people just don't imagine that this is someone's father, or son, or granddaughter, or grandson.
