CSKA basketball players won their eighth victory in a row at the start of the Euroleague

The basketball players of CSKA Moscow beat the Lithuanian Zalgiris in overtime in a home match of the Euroleague regular championship, winning their eighth victory in a row at the start of the season.

The meeting in Moscow ended with a score of 99:97 (16:18, 21:20, 22:22, 27:26, 13:11) in favor of the home team, in which the most productive were Sergio Rodriguez (24 points) and Corey Higgins (23).

This meeting became the official debut for CSKA for the naturalized center of the Russian national team, Joel Bolomboy, whose mother is Ukrainian and whose father is Congolese. The 24-year-old basketball player, who received Russian citizenship on November 12, scored eight points.

CSKA ranks second in the Euroleague standings , behind the Spanish Real Madrid in terms of the number of victories in regular time.

Things are much worse for Khimki near Moscow, which the day before managed to defeat the Montenegrin club Buducnost in a home match of the Euroleague regular championship with a score of 85:69. The most productive player of the meeting was Khimki defender Alexey Shved, who scored 22 points.

“Khimki” won only their second victory in eight matches of the current Euroleague and are in 12th place.

In the next round, CSKA and Khimki will exchange opponents - the Muscovites will play away against Montenegrin Buducnost on November 23, and the Khimki team will visit Zalgiris on the same day.
