US President Donald Trump announced that he signed an executive order to partially close the border with Mexico due to a caravan of migrants moving towards the southern border.
According to Bloomberg, this happened two days ago. The President warned that he could close the border completely if the situation with migrants escalates.
Trump also allowed the military to open fire on migrants "if necessary." According to him, among those wishing to cross the US border are at least 500 criminals. At the same time, the American leader did not provide evidence of this information.
“I will not allow you to gain an advantage over the military. I have no choice. Do I want it to happen? Of course not. But we are dealing with violent people,” Trump said in a statement.
In October, a caravan of migrants from Central America moved towards the border with Mexico. In this regard, Trump demanded the redeployment of additional military forces to the southern border.
On November 9, Trump signed an executive order that restricts asylum to migrants. Those who illegally cross the US-Mexico border will be denied entry. Foreigners will be able to obtain asylum only at the established points of entry if they have documents confirming the need for migration.
