Participants in single pickets against the transfer of Ingush lands to Chechnya were detained in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, at the corner of Nevsky and Malaya Sadovaya streets, participants in single pickets against the transfer of part of the territory of Ingushetia to Chechnya were detained, reports OVD-Info and the Detainees Assistance Group.

According to OVD-Info, police detained Alexander Mironov, Elena Grigorieva, Evgeny Musin, Ilya Tkachenko, Valeria Gnusareva and Olga Smirnova. They are all taken to police department No. 78.

In relation to Mironov and Grigorieva, a protocol is drawn up on residence at the place of stay or at the place of residence without registration (19.15.1 of the Administrative Code). Musin was detained on a report of a crime; the reasons for the arrests of the remaining picketers are unknown.

As the “Group for Assistance to Detainees” told Mediazona, the police also detained Roman Samoilov, Vladimir Gnatenko and Dmitry Dorokhin. All of them are in police department No. 78. Samoilov requires medical attention. According to the latest data, a total of nine people have been detained.

By 22:00 Moscow time, all the detainees, except the last three, were released from the police departments, writes OVD-Info. A protocol was drawn up against Mironov and Grigorieva about living without registration. Roman Samoilov was taken to the hospital with a concussion. He, as well as Gnatenko and Dorokhin, are charged with disobeying a police officer’s order.

In October, the Constitutional Court of Ingushetia, amid mass protests by local residents, overturned the law and agreement establishing the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya, and also demanded a referendum on changing the border.

The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, refused to recognize this decision and asked to check the law and agreement in the Constitutional Court of Russia. The head of the Constitutional Court of Ingushetia, Ayup Gagiev, refused to participate in this meeting, since the decision of the republican court does not fall within the competence of the Constitutional Court of Russia.
