Great film director Bernando Bertolucci dies

The death of the director is reported by the Italian media, in particular, the newspaper La Repubblica, which called him "the last great maestro."

Bertolucci was born on March 16, 1940. In the late 1960s, he made two amateur films, Ropeway and Death of a Pig. In 1962, he made his first feature film, Bony Death. Fame for the director brought the films "The Conformist" and "Last Tango in Paris". For "Tango" Bertolucci was nominated for the "Oscar" as the best director. In 1988, Bertolucci received two Oscars for The Last Emperor in the nominations for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2011, he received the honorary Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for his contribution to cinema.

In total, Bertolucci made more than 20 films; in films, he acted not only as a director, but also as a screenwriter, editor, actor, and producer.
