The court upheld a 150 thousand ruble fine for a picketer who demanded freedom of assembly

The Moscow City Court upheld a fine of 150,000 rubles for Left Resistance activist Kirill Kotov. He himself informed OVD-Info about this.

Earlier, the Tverskoy District Court found Kotov guilty of repeated violation of the rules for holding a public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a joint picket with Daria Polyudova. The activist said that she managed to stand with a banner with the inscription “I demand freedom of assembly! 31st article of the Constitution” for just a couple of seconds, after which she was detained along with Kotov, who was standing nearby.

He noted that at the appeal session, the judge did not even retire to the deliberation room before making a decision.

• In early November, police officers talked to Kirill Kotov about his posts on VKontakte, showing screenshots from his page. For example, a post in which Kotov compared the responsibility of the Russians for Putin's actions with the responsibility of the Germans for what Hitler did attracted the attention of law enforcement officers.
