Independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili, backed by the ruling Georgian Dream party, wins the presidential elections in Georgia. This is evidenced by the data of the CEC of the country.

Based on the results of counting 99.7% of the ballots, Zurabishvili is gaining 59.56% of the votes, and her rival, the candidate of the opposition United National Movement party Grigol Vashadze, is gaining 40.46%.

• The current presidential elections in Georgia are the last to be held by direct voting. From 2023, the head of state will be elected by an electoral college consisting of 300 delegates.
