Norwegian Magnus Carlsen defended his world chess title for the third time

Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen defeated American Fabiano Caruana in the World Chess Championship match and defended his world title.

In a tiebreaker, during which the opponents played games with a shortened time control, Carlsen won three games out of three.

• The main part of the final match of 12 games ended in a draw with a score of 6:6.
• Carlsen became world champion in 2013. He defended the title against challengers in 2014 and 2016.
