On December 2, SpaceX will launch three satellites of the startup Hawkeye from Washington. These are the first commercial devices that can intercept radio signals from the ground. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to the statement of the chief executive director of John Serafini.

According to the top manager, 50% of Hawkeye orders will come from the Ministry of Defense and its contractors, as well as from intelligence, and the rest-from rescue groups that are looking for emergency lighthouses or other commercial companies.

The company will start with three satellites, and then the group will expand to 10 devices to cover the entire planet. As noted in Bloomberg, smugglers and criminals often disconnect GPS transponders to avoid tracking.

Instead, they use satellite phones and SV radio stations. Hawkeye satellites will allow you to track and establish the whereabouts of such violators no more than 30 minutes.
