The Osiris-Rex robotic spacecraft entered orbit around the asteroid Bennu.

The scientific program of "Osiris" is designed for a little more than two years. As part of this program, in 2021, the probe will have to collect pieces of Bennu soil, and then deliver them to Earth.

• The orbit of the asteroid Bennu is located between Venus and Mars. NASA believes that potentially Bennu could collide with the Earth - the probability of this event at the end of the XXII century is estimated at 0.037%.
• Scientists suggest that the asteroid consists of the substance of a nebula, the collapse of which gave rise to the Sun and most of the objects of the solar system. Studying this substance will help scientists learn more about the origin of the solar system.
