A security guard who escaped with a machine gun from Murom committed suicide

Update 19:25. Yuri Petrov died in the hospital, Interfax reports with reference to the Investigative Committee.

Private security officer Yuri Petrov, who fled with a weapon from his post in Murom, was found wounded in a forest near Moscow, said Evgenia Kiryushina, a representative of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.

According to Kiryushina, now 61-year-old Petrov is hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the chest. Earlier, an Interfax source claimed that the man committed suicide.

Petrov was found in the vicinity of Gzhel. He had an AKM automatic rifle with him, with which he left the post on the bridge in Murom in the Vladimir region.

An Interfax source said that “family troubles” became the reason for leaving the post. "Moskovsky Komsomolets" called Petrov on the phone and the man who answered the journalist said that he "drank, did a trick" and now "has to decide how to get out of this story." The interlocutor of the publication rejected the version of the escape because of loans.
