Maria Stepanova won the Big Book National Literary Prize for her novel In Memory of Memory. The second prize was awarded to Alexander Arkhangelsky with the book "Checking Bureau", and the third prize went to Dmitry Bykov for the novel "June", according to the website award . Lyudmila Petrushevskaya was awarded for her contribution to literature. Evgenia Lisitsyna received the Litblog award for bloggers.

According to TASS , at the beginning of the ceremony, the guests observed a moment of silence in memory of the writers who left in 2018 - Vladimir Sharov, Vladimir Voinovich, Eduard Uspensky and Andrey Bitov.

Maria Stepanova called the victory "dazzling news" and called on readers for solidarity. In particular, she asked the guests during the celebration to remember the Seventh Studio case.

Dmitry Bykov, Oleg Ermakov ("Rainbow and Heather"), Andrey Filimonov ("Recipes for the Creation of the World") received the reader's vote prize.

The National Literary Award "Big Book" was established in 2005 by the Center for the Support of Russian Literature. Its owners receive 3 million rubles. for the first place, 1.5 million for the second and 1 million for the third. Among the winners of past years are writers Leonid Yuzefovich, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Lyudmila Ulitskaya and others.
