The Investigative Committee closed the criminal case against the press secretary of Roskomnadzor

The Investigative Committee terminated the criminal case of embezzlement in Roskomnadzor, TASS reports citing the lawyer of one of the accused Elena Vyatkin. Among the defendants in the case was the press secretary of the department Vadim Ampelonsky. Officials were accused of illegal payments of 58 million rubles.

A criminal case against Roskomnadzor officials was opened in October 2017. According to investigators, the suspects for several years received a salary for employees who were hired only on paper, but did not actually work.

The criminal case was originally instituted under the article "Fraud", but then was re -qualified for waste. According to the sources of the Kommersant newspaper, as part of the investigation of the case, the FSB listened for six months to the phones of the Roskomnadozra.

Ampelonsky lawyer Sergei Sedakov said that the defense managed to prove that the official was not to blame for anything. His words quoted by Interfax . The case was closed behind the lack of corpus delicti.
