Lithuania is the first NATO country to impose sanctions over the Kerch Strait conflict

Lithuania has become the first country in the North Atlantic Alliance to impose sanctions on Russia over the conflict in the Kerch Strait . This was announced by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite at a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

"We know that international organizations have not adopted any sanctions against Russian actions, but we have adopted our national sanctions in protest against the attack in the Kerch Strait," the press service of the Ukrainian president quotes Grybauskaite as saying.

Grybauskaite did not specify what specific restrictive measures Lithuania is introducing against Russia.

In turn, the Lithuanian Delfi, citing diplomatic sources, reports that the issue is about expanding the list of undesirable persons. It is planned to include "direct participants in the implementation of an act of aggression against military courts of Ukraine", as well as representatives of the Russian military command. In total, 20 people are going to be added to the "black list".
