Roskomnadzor blocked Navalny’s website about “smart voting” against United Russia

Roskomnadzor added the website of Alexei Navalny about "smart voting" to the register of violators of the rights of subjects of personal data, said the representative of the department Vadim Ampelonsky. On December 7, the site began to be blocked in Russia.

The notice of blocking the MGTS provider indicates the number of the materials of the case of the Tagansky Court against the registrar Gandi SAS, through which the site was designed. The decision was made on December 4th.

According to Ampelonsky, citizens (he did not name names) complained about Navalny’s website, who noticed that their personal data was being processed without consent. Roskomnadzor checked the site and found that the consent form there does not comply with the law, in addition to this, there is no privacy policy. The data of citizens themselves, according to Ampelonsky, is stored abroad, which is prohibited.

Update. Navalny promised to find "a solution to this problem."

• Navalny launched the Smart Voting project on November 28. He asked everyone to leave their address on the site in order to send them a notification with recommendations on who it is better to vote for in local elections. Navalny's team will itself determine the best candidate in each election, counting on the person who can defeat United Russia.
