In St. Petersburg, the court rejected the claim of Lilia Chanysheva, an employee of the Ufa headquarters of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny, against the social network VKontakte for the disclosure of personal data, the reports . joint press service of the city courts

In early November, Chanysheva's lawsuit was left without action due to the fact that it found violations of the requirements of the articles of the Civil Procedure Code on the form of the statement of claim and on the documents attached to the lawsuit. The court gave the plaintiff time until December 7 to correct the shortcomings.

“The amended statement of claim was submitted to the court, but not all the shortcomings indicated by the court were eliminated,” the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg noted.

In her lawsuit, Chanysheva demanded that VKontakte pay moral damages in the amount of 100,000 rubles due to the disclosure of her personal information to law enforcement agencies. She sued the social network on October 31.

The police officers, referring to the laws "On Police" and "On Investigative Activities", demanded to disclose the time and date of creation of Chanysheva's page, personal data during registration, IP address, as well as information about other administrators of "Team Navalny | Ufa.

After that, the Ministry of Internal Affairs transferred this information to Roskomnadzor, which fined Chanysheva for violating the law "On Personal Data".

According to the activist, the representatives of VKontakte violated the law by their actions, since the social network can transfer data to the police only in the event of a criminal investigation or verification of the submitted application.

The press service of VKontakte reported that the social network interacts with law enforcement agencies in accordance with the law.
