Angarsk Maniac Mikhail Popkov received a second life sentence for 60 murders

Popkov is called the "Angarsk maniac", the most cruel serial killer in modern Russia. Previously, he was already sentenced to a series of murders .

According to the investigation, a total of 53-year-old Mikhail Popkov from 1992 to 2010. committed at least 84 murders. His victims were women aged 16 to 40, as well as a police officer, the press service of the Investigative Committee in the Irkutsk Region reports.

In 2015, Popkov was sentenced to life imprisonment for 22 murders, but the man delayed his move to the Black Dolphin special regime colony, admitting another 59 murders and one assassination attempt. The volume of the criminal case amounted to 322 volumes.

He hid the corpses of the butt in the forest, ponds, marshy areas. Judicial psychiatrists made Popkov the diagnosis of “Homicidomania” (passion for murders), which is not a symptom of a mental disorder.

Popkov himself called himself a "cleaner" and claimed that he killed only "women leading a rampant lifestyle." It is known that Popkov committed several crimes while on duty and using an official car.
