Zolotov filed a lawsuit against Navalny

The head of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov, demands to recover 1 million rubles from opposition leader Alexei Navalny as part of a lawsuit to protect honor, dignity and business reputation

The lawsuit was filed with the Lublin Court of Moscow. If the court awards money, they will be sent to one of the orphanages, the lawyer said.

In August, the Alexei Navalny Anti-Corruption Foundation published an investigation in which he spoke about overpricing when supplying food to the National Guard. The department denied this information, and Zolotov made a video message to Navalny, in which he challenged the oppositionist to a duel. Navalny proposed a duel in the form of a debate, but the general said that he did not intend to participate in the televised debate, as he had invited him "for something else."

In October, the FBK and Navalny demanded that the dacha of the head of the Russian Guard, which previously belonged to the state, be withdrawn.

"Very funny. Yesterday, the FSB confirmed the findings of our investigation and called the contract of the Russian Guard for the purchase of food "corrupt-intensive." And today the head of the National Guard, Zolotov, is suing me. Why didn’t you file for the FSB?” Navalny commented on the news about the lawsuit, noting that he was ready to tell the court about the findings of the FBK investigation.

On the eve it became known that the Main Military Prosecutor's Office began checking information about the possible supply of foodstuffs to the National Guard at inflated prices, and the Federal Antimonopoly Service opened a case on the presence of signs of violation of the law on state defense orders when supplying products to the Russian Guard by the Druzhba Narodov meat processing plant.

The FAS opened a case in November after an appeal from the FSB. From the text of the appeal, it follows that the only supplier and his contractors "illegally inflated the price of products, actually acting as a reseller." The Friendship of Peoples enterprise became the sole supplier of food for the Russian Guard by order of the government of December 2, 2017. As follows from the materials of the audit of the military prosecutor's office, the creation of this document was preceded by correspondence between President Vladimir Putin and director of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov.
