Viktor Filinkov, a defendant in the Network case, had his arrest extended until the end of January.

The Dzerzhinsky District Court of St. Petersburg extended for a month and a half the arrest of anti-fascist Viktor Filinkov, a defendant in the case of the Set terrorist group. This was reported to OVD-Info by the lawyer of the International Human Rights Group "Agora" Vitaly Cherkasov.

Thus, the court sided with the employees of the prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee, who petitioned for an extension of the arrest, and Filinkov will stay in the St. Petersburg pre-trial detention center until January 22, 2019. Judge Vladimir Vasyukov announced the decision behind closed doors.

Earlier, Filinkov, as well as another defendant in the Network case, Yulia Boyarshinov, had already been extended by the Dzerzhinsky court until January 22. After that, the City Court canceled the decision of the court of first instance regarding Filinkov and sent the investigator's petition for a new consideration, while leaving Filinkov in custody for another 20 days.

According to Zaks.ru, was interrogated Novaya Gazeta journalist Tatyana Likhanova in court, and she said she was ready to register Filinkov in her apartment if he was released under house arrest. She is sure that Filinkov should be kept at home, as he has psoriasis. Vitaly Cherkasov also noted that his client suffers from osteochondrosis and a constant cold. Earlier, the lawyer said that Filinkov's health deteriorated greatly while he was transferred from different cities for investigative measures.
