According to the blog of the head of the movement, Lev Ponomarev, on the Ekho Moskvy website, the organization must provide documents for the last three years. They relate to accounting, staffing, grant projects.
“Among other things, this list includes the movement’s correspondence with individuals and legal entities and publications in the media (!), including the Internet information and telecommunication network. Everything must be stitched, numbered, signed and sealed, ”the blog says .
Human rights activists note that they were given less than a month to prepare this multi-volume report - until January 14. Late or incomplete provision of the required documents may result in administrative liability.
According to Lev Ponomarev, the reason for the sudden check was the meeting of the HRC under the President.
“At this meeting, my surname was repeatedly pronounced by my colleagues, both in connection with the illegal detention and conviction, and in connection with the discussion of the Network and New Greatness cases <...> If you look closely at Putin’s answers, he was either on the side of the actions authorities, or sometimes showed some indecision and said something like “we need to figure it out.” I consider the unscheduled check by the Ministry of Justice of the OOD “For Human Rights” precisely as a measure that should remove this hesitation in the president’s words. The result of this check, I'm afraid, is predictable," Ponomarev said.
Ponomarev is serving an administrative arrest, to which he was sentenced for a post on Facebook about a rally in defense of the defendants in the Network and New Greatness cases.
