The non -recognition of Russian certification in Europe and the United States slows down the beginning of negotiations with potential foreign buyers, Chemezov said, noting that he had already discussed the problem with the Minister of Transport of Russia Evgeny Dietrich - the official promised to solve the issue of the end of the first quarter of 2019.

In November, the Irkut Corporation asked the Federal Air Transport Agency to postpone the MS-21 certification from the end of 2019 to the second half of 2020. At the same time, the certification of the aircraft at the European Aircraft Agency was shifted to December 2021. The corporation explained the request by the fact that it takes more time to comprehensive tests of nodes and liner units.

The nearby medium-sized narrow-fuselaid aircraft Irkut MS-21, called the “Highway Men-Century”, was developed by the Irkut Scientific and Production Corporation. In February 2014, the Irkutsk aircraft plant (a branch of the Irkut NPK) began assembling the first prototypes of the MS-21-300. The first flight of the liner took place in May last year at the base of the Irkutsk aircraft factory. The start of serial production was scheduled for 2017, but was postponed first for 2018, and then for 2019.
