Ingush students filed complaints against the actions of security forces during a search of a Moscow dormitory

In Moscow, 13 natives of Ingushetia, detained in the dormitory of the Russian State Geological Prospecting University in Moscow (MGRI-RGGRU), filed complaints against the actions of the security forces, writes Ekho Kavkaza with reference to lawyer Alikhan Khashiev.

One of the detainees, Zaur Khashiev, told his lawyer that during the search, masked people burst into the room shouting “FSB”, knocked him and his brother down, began beating them on the head with “rubber hammers” and hit them in the groin with an electric shocker. Student Khashiev filed a complaint with the police against the actions of the security forces.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" wrote that eight students complained to the prosecutor's office about beatings during detention, as well as the seizure of money and mobile phones during a search, which were never returned.

On December 17, the permanent mission of Ingushetia in Moscow reported that security forces detained about 40 students, natives of the republic. In addition to the Ingush, students of other nationalities were detained, including from the republics of the North Caucasus. Later, all the detainees were released from the departments.

The permanent mission linked the detention to a statement to the police from a student from Tajikistan. “He stated that Ingush students allegedly beat him and shot him with a traumatic pistol,” said a department employee.

The university claimed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard carried out “preventive measures to prevent crime” in the dormitory, and during the search they found drugs and traumatic weapons.
