The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the possible murder of a Russian in a Lvov colony

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russian citizen Valery Ivanov, who died in December in a colony in the Lvov region of Ukraine, could have been killed.

The head of the colony, according to the Foreign Ministry, explained Ivanov's death by injuries sustained due to a fall from a stepladder, but an autopsy, as it became known to diplomats, revealed a fracture of four ribs and a closed craniocerebral injury.

“This gives grounds to assume the deliberate murder of a Russian citizen,” the statement said.

• Valery Ivanov participated in the armed conflict in the south-east of Ukraine as a volunteer on the side of the separatists. His death in the Ukrainian colony became known on December 19. The representative of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic, Olga Kobtseva, said that Ivanov was beaten by the guards of the colony, and he died from his injuries in the punishment cell of the institution.
