They want to take the coordinator of Navalny's Chelyabinsk headquarters to court on a case of causing harm to health

Boris Zolotarevsky, the coordinator of the Chelyabinsk headquarters of Alexei Navalny, is going to be brought to court in a case of causing minor bodily harm. Zolotarevsky writes in a telegram that he learned about this from the bailiff, who called him on the phone.

The bailiff told the activist that the criminal case was connected with the Tominsky Mining and Processing Plant, an enterprise under construction, against which ecologists oppose in the Chelyabinsk region. Zolotarevsky is a member of the Stop GOK movement, which is holding actions against the construction of the plant and the Russian Copper Company, which is building it.

The details of the case are unknown at this time. OVD-Info has not yet been able to contact Zolotarevsky. The bailiff managed to report that the car was already ready to take the coordinator to the Poletaevsky Court. (Apparently, this refers to the judicial district No. 2 of the Sosnovsky district of the Chelyabinsk region in the village of Poletaevo). Zolotarevsky replied that he had been summoned to the military registration and enlistment office that day. To this the bailiff replied: “Then I will wait for you there. Come and decide…”

The activist suggests that the case is related to the incident that took place on June 29, 2018. Then the car in which Zolotarevsky was driving along with the volunteers of Navalny's headquarters was blocked between the M-36 highway and the village of Tomino, where the plant is being built, by employees of the Russian Copper Company private security company.

As Zolotarevsky wrote then, one of the employees of the private security company named Kirill told the activist several times that he “caused him physical pain.” At the same time, another employee “picturesquely fell to the ground.”

UPD 16:16 Zolotarevsky wrote in his telegram channel that he was free. The bailiff was not there, although he promised to come. “With courts and subpoenas, everything is simple: if they are in the mailbox or against signature, I will appear,” the activist writes.

• Between the authorities of the Chelyabinsk region and local residents there is a confrontation over the construction of a mining and processing plant (GOK). Previously, especially active opponents of the construction clashed, first of all, with security guards and aggressive young people, who, apparently, were hired by the Russian Copper Company (RMC) involved in the construction.
