In the Moscow region, the Investigative Committee opened a case against a local police officer who was injured in an explosion of ammunition, according to the website of the regional department.
The case was opened under Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code (illegal trafficking in explosives). The investigation established that on December 15, in the city of Likino-Dulevo, a district police officer at his dacha tried to disassemble ammunition using an ax and other tools. As a result, it detonated.
During the inspection, weapons and ammunition were found at the district police officer’s dacha, including those from the Great Patriotic War.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the local police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Maryina Roshcha district was damaged as a result of the explosion of ammunition from the Great Patriotic War, which he found on the road. The policeman lost his hand and eye.
