The head of Center “E” resigned

The head of the Center for Countering Extremism, Timur Valiulin, resigned, reports with reference to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev. Interfax

“These are purely personnel issues that are now in the practical level of execution,” the minister answered the question about the resignation of the head of Center “E”.

In early December, Interfax and RBC sources said that Valiulin was leaving his position. The agency's interlocutors did not give a reason for the resignation. At the same time, Kommersant wrote that the reason for this was real estate in Bulgaria, which Valiulin sold before his appointment as head of Center “E”, but did not indicate in the declaration. This property became known during Valiulin’s divorce proceedings this year.

Valiulin headed Center “E” in 2012. Before that, he headed the Moscow Department for Combating Organized Crime.
