Roskomnadzor warned the hosts to accelerate locks

The supervisory authority sent a notification to some owners of sites and hosting providers that on December 29, 2018, the Law on Columbine Blocks enters into force, which, in addition to the new list of prohibited information, also introduces quick locks for all types of Internet resources included in the register.

The authorities prepared a kind of New Year's “Gift” for owners of Internet resources, as well as hostors and telecom operators, which literally recently sent them Roskomnadzor. The letter of the following content was submitted to the disposal of Roskomvoboda:

“We inform you that from December 29, 2018, Federal Law of December 18, 2018 No. 472“ On Amending Article 15.1 of the Federal Law “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection” and Article 5 of the Federal Law “On the Protection of Children from Information Causing Harm Affairs and Development” ( http://publication.pravo.gov.ru/document/vew/00012018121800?index=0&rangesize=1 ).

In accordance with the new version of Article 15.1 of the Federal Law of July 27, 2006 No. 149-ФЗ “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection”, the response time sets established by the hosting provider and the website owner “Internet” to delete or restrict access to prohibited information, namely:

-immediately from the moment of receipt of the notification, the hosting provider is obliged to inform the website owner of the site on the Internet and notify him of the need to delete the Internet page containing information, the spread of which is prohibited in the Russian Federation;

-immediately from the moment the hosting provider received a notification about the inclusion of the domain name and (or) the page of the site page on the Internet in the Unified Register of Prohibited Information, the site owner on the Internet is obliged to delete the Internet page containing information that is prohibited in the Russian Federation. In case of refusal or inaction of the site owner on the Internet, the hosting provider is obliged to limit access to such a site on the Internet within a day.
