In the Irkutsk region, the inhabitants of the village of Elantsev entered the protest against a total ban on construction. It was introduced here by a decree of the Russian government due to the proximity of the territory to the central environmental zone of Lake Baikal. The document limits the construction of any buildings. According to local media, about a thousand people took part in the rally - this is almost every fourth resident of the village. People are also unhappy that the prosecutor's office forces them to demolish existing buildings.
Locals demand from officials to amend the law in order to allow the construction of at least residential buildings in the Olkhonsky district. They are also unhappy that agricultural land according to documents has become the territory of the National Park and it is also prohibited to use them for personal purposes. Protesters demanded to change this status and allocate areas to farmers.
Despite the frost, the protest protest lasted more than an hour and a half. The mayor came to the protesters, but the officials of the official did not arrange. They stated their requirements in the rally resolution and collected more than 600 signatures under it. It is planned to be sent for consideration by the President of Russia.
