The Amur Region and other regions of the Far East cannot receive money according to the state program for resettlement from emergency barracks, hastily erected for builders of the Baikal-Amur highway. This was announced today at a meeting of the Federation Council by a member of the Council from the executive branch of the Amur Region Ivan Abramov.

"The resettlement today needs 3,300 Amur residents, now they live in" Bamov "wagons. The position of the Ministry of Construction is currently depriving citizens of the right to receive comfortable housing and utilities," Abramov said. According to him, the Ministry of Construction in 2018 changed the rules for the provision of federal funds, which is why residents of the Amur cities of Tynda and February will not be able to get new housing instead of the "Bamov" barracks.

The new rules of the Ministry of Construction do not recognize barracks for BAM builders with residential premises, so their owners are not entitled to apply for improving living conditions. “At the same time, only in the Amur region the number of such houses reaches 1540. And earlier, the regional authorities specially transferred these buildings to the housing stock for several years so that people could get different benefits, including to pay for housing and communal services,” Abramov said .

The Council of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko in response said that the pace of resettlement from emergency housing "needs to be accelerated and funding."
