Roskomnadzor sent a number of owners of sites and hosting providers a notification that the law on the extra-court blocking of sites that enters into force on December 29, 2018, dangerous for the life and health of minors, including the so-called "Columbine Communities", also introduces an accelerated blocking regime for all resources included in the register of prohibited sites.

As a letter reads, the full text of which gives Roskomskvoboda , entering into force on December 29, amendments to Article 15.1 of the Law "On Information, Information Technologies and the Protection of Information", introduce new response time periods established by the hosting provider and the owner of the site to delete or restrict access to prohibited information.

According to the new requirements, from the moment of receipt of the notification of blocking, the hosting providers are obliged to immediately inform the site owner of the site served by him, informing him of the need to remove the Internet page that has fallen under the ban. In turn, after receiving such a notification from the hoster, the site owners should immediately delete the Internet page containing prohibited information.

In case of refusal or inaction of the site owner, the hosting provider is obliged to limit access to such a site within a day.

According to the head of the Diphost hosting provider, Philip Kulin, who also received a letter from Roskomnadzor, the new requirements will turn into erroneous locks. In addition, in order to avoid problems, hosters will simply begin to first block customer sites upon receipt of a notification of the regulator.

“Roskomnadzor, I want to note, reasonably approached the question-and explanations about the day, and the newsletter according to traditional counterparties (hosters, three letters came to me). This, by the way, is the work that I would like to see from Roskomnadzor,” Kulin noted in his Telegram channel .
