The Security Service of Ukraine announced the disclosure of the Russian agent network in the Nikolaev region. Law enforcement officers detained a retired Ukrainian military who allegedly collaborated with Russian intelligence. It is reported by Ukrainian Pravda.
Detention of "Russian spies"
The SBU repeatedly announced the detention of the alleged Russian spies. In particular, two years ago the department reported on the arrest in the city of Rivne Spy , which is allegedly an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense. He allegedly tried to get documents with the stamp "Secret" and "Top Secret" that relate to the army of Ukraine. As a reward, the man offered the Ukrainian officer money and Russian citizenship.
Last year, the SBU announced the detention of an employee of the National Guard of Ukraine, who, approved, was also an agent of Russian intelligence. The Ukrainian special services claimed that the detainee has transferred a significant amount of secret documents.
On suspicion of espionage to Russia last December, an employee of the Ukrainian Government Secretariat was also detained . It turned out to be Stanislav Yezhov, assistant to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman. The SBU stated that he was recruited during one of the business trips and collected some kind of “insider information” about the activities of government structures of Ukraine.
