The St. Petersburg City Court overturned the arrest of a participant in the anti-corruption action on June 12, 2017

The St. Petersburg City Court canceled the arrest of Alexei Belozerov, a participant in the action on June 12, 2017. This is stated in the telegram channel "Apology of Protest".

Belozerov was found guilty under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to police orders) and arrested for seven days. He appealed the court's decision, but the court upheld the ruling.

On June 26, the Plenum of the Supreme Court issued a decision that prohibits the simultaneous preparation of protocols under Article 19.3 and Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding an action) against peaceful protesters.

After that, Belozerov, together with lawyers from the Apology of Protest, appealed the decision to arrest, the court sided with him.

The channel's message notes that the provisions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court also apply to the actions that have already taken place. This is due to the fact that the Code of Administrative Offenses does not have time limits for applying to the court.

The Apology of Protest draws attention to the fact that any peaceful protester who is charged under articles 19.3 and 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses can cancel the court decision and dismiss the case under the article on disobedience to the police.
