Missing BlaBlaCar customer found dead near Serpukhov

Law enforcement agencies have discovered the body of the director of two Moscow Burger King restaurants, Irina Akhmatova, who disappeared after she picked up a fellow traveler through the BlaBlaCar service. This is reported by the agency "Moscow" with reference to a source in law enforcement.

Irina Akhmatova was found near Serpukhov in the Moscow region. The man accused of killing her himself told investigators where he had left the woman's body, the source said.

The Investigative Committee of Russia confirmed this information.

• Irina Akhmatova, 29, went missing on December 23 while traveling from Moscow to Tula to visit her parents. On the way, she picked up a fellow traveler, Vitaly Chikirev, through the BlaBlaCar service, who, as it turned out later, was tried for rape and fraud. Chikirev confessed to having killed the woman during the robbery. He is arrested.
