Brazil was headed by "Tropical Trump"
On October 28, the second round of the presidential election was held in Brazil, following which the far-right politician Zair Bolsonaru , representing the country's conservative liberal party, won. On January 1, he took office. Its mandate is designed for four years.
The Bolsonaru Copes in the second round - the candidate from the PT Fernande Addad - gained 45%. After the announcement of the preliminary voting results, he stated that he would go to the opposition.
The 63 -year -old Zhir Bolsonaru is the first extreme right politician who came to power after 1985, when the reign of the military junta ended. During the election campaign, Bolsonaru repeatedly stated that US President Donald Trump is his idol and an example to follow. For his extreme right views, he is sometimes called "tropical Trump."
Bolsonaru is known for contemptuous statements against the defenders of women and sexual minorities, as well as insulting immigrants and representatives of national minorities. In particular, in an interview, he stated that a woman should receive a lesser salary than a man, because he could get pregnant and go on maternity leave.
Bolsonaru also advocates the cancellation of restrictions on free possession of firearms and has repeatedly expressed in defense of the military dictatorship. At the same time, many supporters of Bolsonaru consider him the savior of the country, and are convinced that he will ensure the safety of Brazil, support traditional values, and will also oppose the legalization of abortion.
