A military town of Northern Fleet will be built in the Yakut village of Tiksi

The military town of the Northern Fleet will be built in the Yakut village of Tiksi on the coast of the Laptev Sea in 2019, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Department of Mass Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The town will consist of 11 objects.

Now the first stage of the construction of military infrastructure, begun in August 2018, is ending. The block-modular town is being built to live for military personnel of the air forces and air defense of the Northern Fleet. 11 objects are planned in the town: it is a hostel, an administrative building, a diesel power station, a storage of water and fuel, a dining room, a garage and others. Buildings will be connected by covered transitions, which is important for the regions of the Far North and the Arctic.

On the islands of the Arctic Ocean and its coast, the military infrastructure of the Northern Fleet is actively erected. The unique administrative-burning complexes of the closed cycle are built on the islands of the boiler room and land of Alexandra. They are designed for the autonomous life of the garrison for a year and a half, noted in the message.
