The largest return in rubles in 2018 was brought to investors by investments in dollars, Russian stocks and palladium futures, RBC calculated .
Dollar . In the period from December 29, 2017 to December 28, 2018, the US currency appreciated by 20.6%, to 69.5 rubles.
Euro . The exchange rate of the European currency against the American one dipped by 6% over the year, but against the ruble it grew by 14.9% over 12 months. Those who opened a deposit in euros in January could receive a yield of 8.5% per annum in rubles.
Cryptocurrency . Investors in cryptocurrency at the end of 2018 fix serious losses. Bitcoin has fallen in price by 4.4 times in a year.
Promotions . Buyers of the most liquid Russian securities for the year would have received a yield of 11.79% (exactly this amount increased the MICEX index). The MCFTR index, which takes into account not only the price of shares, but also the dividend yield of the largest companies, rose by 18.5%. However, it is worth considering that transactions with shares are subject to income tax of 13% on the amount of dividend payments and the difference between the purchase costs and income from the sale of shares.
Gold .
