Russia took 48th place in the “passport index”. First place: Japan
Japan took first place in the new version of the passport index, which is compiled by the consulting company Henley & Partners. According to the authors of the index, Japanese citizens can visit 190 countries without a visa.
Second place is occupied by Singapore and South Korea (189 countries), the third - Germany and France (188 countries).
Russia ranks 48th with 119 countries (a year ago there were 110). The figures for Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan are 128, 77 and 76 countries respectively. Latvia and Lithuania are in 11th place with the possibility to visit 180 countries without a visa.
Close the index Afghanistan and Iraq, whose citizens can visit 30 countries without a visa.
The UK and US continue to lose ground in the Index and are now in 6th place (185 countries). A significant drop from 1st place in 2015, experts explain the policy of "closed doors" in both countries.
- In December 2018, was published Arton Capital's Passport Index rating with slightly different results - the UAE passport was recognized as the "strongest" in it with 167 countries. Russia in this ranking was in 38th place with 116 countries without a visa.
