Pokemon Go developer Niantic raised $190 million in investments in December 2018, according to documents from the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The company needed additional funds before the release of the Harry Potter game.

The published documents do not indicate specific investors, but The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the new round will be led by venture capital company IVP, Samsung and aXiomatic Gaming will also take part. In total, according to the SEC, 26 investors took part in the round.
Context. Pokemon Go brought its creators about $800 million in revenue in 2018. This is 35% more than a year earlier. In total, players have spent $2.2 billion on the game since its launch in July 2016.
