
In St. Petersburg, the former head of the Kingisepp customs Sergei Slepukhin, who is under arrest on suspicion of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale, announced a hunger strike on December 27, 47news reports .
According to the publication, Slepukhin demanded an objective investigation and a date with his wife and daughter who are in the case with witnesses.
According to lawyer Alexander Lalin, Slepukhin was advised to testify that he received a bribe in order to transfer money to the bosses. For this, he was allegedly promised to assist in changing the preventive measure for house arrest and in receiving conditional punishment.
Kingisepp City Court arrested Slepukhin on May 25, 2018. According to investigators, he received a bribe on an especially large scale. The suspect himself denies guilt.
