Investigators have stopped a criminal case against a resident of Barnaul Maria Motuznaya, who was accused of extremism and insulting the feelings of believers because of memes in VKontakte. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Investigative Committee on the Altai Territory.

“The legislation has changed, in connection with which the criminal case against Maria Motuznaya has been terminated. The criminal case against the resident of the region Andrei Shasherin, which was instituted under the same article, was also terminated, ”the agency’s interlocutor said, noting that several criminal cases against other citizens in the region of the investigation are continuing,” the department said.

The case of extremism and insulting the feelings of believers on the motorcycle was brought up due to preserved images in the album from a remote page on VKontakte. An application for insulting feelings from viewing images on Motuznoy was written by two students of the Altai branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of Russia Anastasia Bitner and Daria Isaenko.

During the interrogation in the court in the case of Maria Motuznaya, an employee of the EE Center Vadim Strelkov said that in an hour he looked at all 14 thousand pictures on her page on VKontakte.

On January 10, it became known that the motorcycle was removed from the list of extremists and Rosfinmonitoring terrorists.
